My name is Steve Collis, I am the Group Chairman of our local Cub Scout Group.. The 9th Kings Lynn RC.

We have three groups..

Beavers, Cub and now a fledgling Scout group.

We all meet every Thursday at The Holy Family Church in Kings Lynn, next to St Martha's school.

Our attendance numbers are high and growing and this is down to our amazing leaders who, week in week out, give their time absolutely freely to inspire, amuse, motivate and care for our cubs, scouts and beavers.

Lisa A, Simon A and Lisa R - thank you so much for your commitment.

However, we cannot survive on goodwill alone.

We do not receive any funding from the government or local authority handouts.

Everything we do has to be paid for with as little impact on the children and their families as possible.

So, to primarily raise some cash to provide equipment for our new Scout Group, I have entered the Peterborough Half Marathon.

I would love to reach my target of £500 and spend this directly on our amazing team and the children they inspire - week in, week out.
