    Story

Hi, my name is Abbie and I would like to tell you a bit about a charity expedition to Kenya I will be going on in the summer of 2018.
On the four week expedition I, as well a other volunteers, will be building sustainable houses, classrooms, schools and clean water facilities for some of the most poverty stricken villages in Kenya. This will be in aid of several of the hundreds of humanitarian projects Camps International have set up across the globe. I will also be helping to build school desks and benches for young children who would otherwise be sat on a dusty floor to work.

Another part of the trip includes helping to dig watering holes for elephants and other native wildlife to help them survive the dry season. I will also be helping to make safe elephant deterants around villages not only to prevent elephant poaching, but to also help crop production for the villagers to increase. This helps not only the elephants, but he villagers as farming is the main source of income in Kenya, so being able to help this creates a massive ripple effect on nearby villages, helping more and more people every year.
As you can imagine I am thrilled not only to have been given the opportunity to go on this once in a lifetime expedition, but support of others helping me reach my goals as this not only benefits the people of Kenya, but will help to build my confidence, team building skills and will help me to get a job in the future (as I'm still studying my GCSE's.)
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this and I hope you will be able to help me in reaching my goal.
    Thank you!
