    Story

We are a small group of parents, whose families live in a rural area of North West Wales known as the 'Pen LLyn' (Lleyn Peninsula). Our children all attend Ysgol Abersoch infant school, with the aim of progressing onto Ysgol Sarn Bach and then to Ysgol Botwnnog (Secondary) to continue their education.

As a parent, one of the main concerns isthe safety of your child/children, and choking is one of the biggest fears. Abersoch, and the surrounding areas, is approx. 37 miles from the nearest Emergency dept. and response time from emergency services can vary. Therefore, it makes sense to be able do everything possible to start dealing with a situation if and when it arises.
Thats why we, as a group, are going to complete a sponsored walk, to the summit of Snowdon, and back down, in order to raise funds to allow us to purchase a piece of equipment that could prove to be lifesaving in such a situation. This walk will take part in May.
Our initial aim was to provide all 3 schools with their own lifevac, and also, one for the local beach cafe as we believe that this is also a very heavily populated area in the Summer season that could benefit. However, as the interest in these devices has been amazing, and much more than we expected, we are now looking to provide them into even more places across the Llyn Peninsula.
The rest of the funds raised, will continue to provide important support and provisions for our fab little school of only 22 pupils, as without it, the school would struggle to continue.

Any amount of donation is very much appreciated and plays such an important role in us reaching our goal. Thank you everyone for your continued support.

      Update from the Page owner

Thank you to all you generous people that have supported our cause. The walk has been completed, in horrendous conditions with gusts of up to 80mph, but with a lot of determination, and maybe a bit of stupidness, we made it to the summit! Follow us on facebook for updates as to how things are moving, and again, thank you all for your generosity. Xxx
