Story
Two member of the Access Bike crew, Alfie Stephens and Nicholas Salter, also joined by David Reeves from Severnplus for the first day!.. are riding from Bath to Paris on the 27th May. They will be riding vintage road bikes, which they have restored while mentoring young people in the Access Bike Workshop.
The four day cycle trip will be raising funds to support the fantastic work of not for profits Access Bike Project and Severn Plus - two incredible, small scale, not for profit organisations that work to support young people in the Stroud District. All funds raised will help to provide mentoring for people who are on the margins of our community, by boosting their self esteem, confidence about their capabilities and their value in the workplace. All achieved by being useful and active in our community.
Severnplus supports young people to participate in community-based activities, improving well-being and getting people closer to work. Access Bike provides a great setting for this to take place, with a fully equipped workshop, peer to peer mentoring and a safe, supportive environment.
They will be teaming up with Sporting Family Change, a fantastic organisation who are holding the charity bike ride and ensuring the boys are safe and looked after!

ALFIE STEPHENS
Stroud, United Kingdom
Alfie and Nic have both been working on old rusty road bikes donated to the Access Bike Project in Stroud. While sharing bike tech skills with young people, they have worked together on these old bikes and created something that will hopefully get them all the way to PARIS!
