Story
The Prophet said: “When a person dies his works end, except for three: ongoing charity, knowledge that is benefited from, and a righteous child who prays for him.” (Muslim)
Our Madrassah is currently under construction to build women's prayer facilities which are currently very rare in Bradford. Hence, any money contributed towards this project, will be a means of continuous charity. If you perform this deed of charity, it will continue to benefit others in a good way, such as children who will learn to read the Quran, and every inch used to pray Salah on. Being the performer of the deed you will continue to collect the rewards for your single act for as long as it benefits others (even after the person passes away). This is referred to as sadaqa jariyah, or perpetual charity.
The degree of this reward will be dependent on the degree and significance of the benefit of the charitable act, and to what degree the charity was given for the sake of Allah. So please contribute as little or much as possible, as well as sharing the benefits of this act with others.
As a last note, giving Charity serves as a way to bring justice, balance and kindness to every society and community. It is our hope that the Muslim community fulfills their charitable duty correctly and notes the benefits of offering a helping hand in this project.
