Story
For 100 years, Alfreton's gargoyle stood proudly atop the old Town Hall. The one-tonne gargoyle was 5ft tall and 4ft wide, and stood 40ft above the main door of the building.
Sometime between 6pm on Monday July 13 2009 and 8am the following morning the terracotta gargoyle was removed from its vantage point by thieves and has never been replaced.
The aim of this page is to raise enough money to to have a replica crafted and fitted back on its prominent spot, looking down at the people of Alfreton.
Any monies left over will be handed to Alfreton's Heritage Centre which is situated in the cemetery on Rogers Lane, Alfreton.
