Skydiving isn't something Anthony Rixon, a double below knee amputee, from Reading, England thought he'd be able to do, but his Uncle Ken - who loves skydiving himself - enquired with Gord and Allison @ Skydive Vancouver Island. Gord gave the thumbs up, and the whole incredible team made it possible for Anthony to take to the blue skies as the sunset enveloped the island! His safety was our #1 concern as lifting his legs high enough was questionable, but with the expertise of his tandem master, Dennis, they landed beautifully. Everyone was all smiles, but there wasn't a dry eye on the field! It was a night none of us will ever forget...

Ant's enthusiasm didn't wane when the adrenaline wore off (Yay!) and he would like to get his skydive certification. And, we all want to help him make the dream of diving into the blue sky a reality. The course costs £1460, then there is the kit and altimeter, so our goal is £1800!

Ant is working on on the best way for him to safely land, without a tandem master. We know it can be done, as Ant is not the first double amputee to skydive, so it's just a matter of working out how.
