Story
Hello. We would like to purchase an Autism Life Dog for our autistic Son and his two Brothers (https://www.autismlifedogs.com/). Autism Life Dogs are an award winning, not for profit organisation providing therapy support dogs for children and families with autism. Our eldest Son, has a number of life-long neurological and medical conditions including autism, ADHD and hypermobility amongst other difficulties. He suffers from severe anxiety which can lead to debilitating meltdowns. Meltdowns are incredibly distressing for him and our family, a reduction in meltdowns will reduce family distress. Autism Life Dogs have reduced the level of anxiety and subsequent meltdowns in other children with autism. Our other two boys have been severely affected by their Brother's behaviour and Autism Life Dogs have helped siblings with play therapy to reduce their own anxiety and distress. In these ways, an Autism Life Dog will benefit all members of our family and will make our household calmer and quieter. An Autism Life Dog will provide much needed companionship for our Son who struggles with the social difficulties associated with autism. Autism Life Dogs have also improved the communication abilities of children with autism and the expression of their emotions, which he struggles with also, lashing out a lot when he is anxious. An Autism Life Dog will enable him to interact more appropriately with our family which will improve our emotional health as well, especially that of his Brothers. An Autism Life Dog will improve his self-esteem, confidence and focus as they have done for other children with autism. The full cost of an Autism Life Dog is £7,500 which is payable in three instalments. Further Costs include: a Therapy Toybox at a cost of £250.00, A specialist autism assistance dog harness can be purchased for £125.00, and handle attachment at £35.00. Can you help us with the cost of our Autism Life Dog and associated costs? Just a £1 would be really appreciated. Thank you.

7 years agoThanks everyone for your kind donations. Autism Life Dogs train family dogs, so we've decided to get a border doodle puppy. Our little man loves border collies, Autism Life Dogs train labradoodles & border doodles are known to have similar tempraments & have been used as service dogs in the past. He can start his training at about 9 months after doing some Kennel club training. Meet Zac, he'll be very comfortable, thanks to your generosity! A local charity has given us a small grant & we are applying for other grants to fund his training. xxx🐕
