Weʼve raised £1,020 to support organisations working front-line with refugees & those fleeing war.

Funded on Saturday, 1st April 2017

    Story

Bristol Cycle to Save Refugees (BCSR) is a sponsored cycle event to raise £3000 for 3 organisations working front line to help refugees fleeing war, famine and violence via the world’s most deadly maritime migration routes.

In 2016 approximately 5000 children, women and men lost their lives at sea, and the work to save them is as crucial as ever.*

Who are we raising funds for?
    MOAS
Migrant Offshore Aid Station (MOAS) provides professional search and rescue to vessels in distress. In two years they have rescued nearly 12,000 people at sea.

    PROACTIVA OPEN ARMS
A group of volunteer group who are working to save refugees off the in the Aegean & Mediterranean sea.

    RED CROSS SYRIA APPEAL
Right now the Red Cross & their partners are supporting thousands of families forced to flee their homes and helping to provide emergency medical care and supplies within unspeakable chaos and destruction.

This year’s cycle is a 26 mile ride, three times the approximate distance from Turkey to the Greek island of Chios in the Aegean Sea. Three times the distance we travelled in January 2016 for one organisation – so we’re doing three times the distance for three.

Please state which of our amazing cyclists you're raising funds for if you are kind enough to donate.

The cycle takes place on Saturday March 11th 2017. For more info please visit https://bcsr2017.wordpress.com/

Thank you for all your support.
