Story
Becky will be taking on the London marathon on April 23rd 2017 to help raise funds for her cousin Violet's Son-Rise and Sensory Programme.
Violet is 9 years old and has Autism. It’s a developmental disorder which affects social communication, social interaction and imagination. She was diagnosed in July 2009.
Violet has Sensory Processing Disorder, it’s a condition in which the brain has trouble receiving and responding to information that comes in through the senses. Whether you are biting into food, riding a bike or reading a book, your successful completion of the activity requires processing sensation.
Walking along the street, a bird singing, or just being in a shop can be over whelming and very distressing for Violet and cause a sensory overload.
Violet has made continuous progress but still has many challenges with this. Senses include Visual, Auditory, Tactile, Proprioception, Vestibular, Motor, Cognition, Communication and Socialisation.
Monies raised will go towards continuing Violets Son-rise programme and fund her sensory specialist which will help her handle normal day to day tasks and activiaties.
Please help support this great cause and help make a difference to this special little girl.
Many thanks for your support
Becky
