    Story

Ben suffers from Chronic Gastroparesis amongst other problems (Including Kidney Failure) which have developed as a result of Diabetes.

Gastroparesis is a disorder that occurs when the stomach takes too long to empty food. This disorder, also known as delayed gastric emptying, is a result of weak or abnormal muscles in the stomach. There’s no known cure for gastroparesis.

You can find out more about Gastroparesis here: http://www.nhs.uk/conditions/gastroparesis/Pages/Introduction.aspx

Ben suffers on a daily basis, for the last 5 years he cannot keep food down, has lost a huge amount of weight and is unable to work. Every morning he spends approx 2-4 hrs vomiting and is in constant pain, he is also a Type 1 Diabetic. Ben suffers from serious tooth decay from the constant vomiting, he has also been told recently that his Kidneys are failing.

As a result of all of this, Ben is unable to lead a 'normal' life and he is unable to work due to his condition.

On top of all this, Ben is facing homelessness and is currenly living in temporary accomadation which he has been told he will need to vacate in the very near future. Ben has been having difficulty claiming benefits & finding accomadation through the council despite having notes from his GP & the Hospitals, this has left him without any financial support and facing homelessness.

Ben is often in hospital on a weekly basis and has recently told me that he feels at a complete loss and doesn't know how much longer he can cope with it all.

I am initially trying to raise £5000 to help Ben with a deposit for a small apartment, money to pay the rent for at least 6-12 months and to buy food etc. and to just to give him some support. Ideally I would like to raise enough for him to buy his own place and pay for the care that he needs.
