We want people-friendly streets throughout our borough - don't you? Better Streets for Enfield is a local group that wants to see:

Better residential streets
...Where calmed traffic and closed rat runs mean that children can play safely and neighbours can build community

Better high streets
...Attractive, pedestrian-friendly, pleasant places to spend time and money

Better main roads
...With lower speed limits and protected bike lanes so that cycling is an option for all ages and abilities, and pedestrians can safely cross

Better ways to travel
...A network of quiet, traffic-calmed streets throughout Enfield for safe cycling and walking to school, work and shops

There's a long way to go to achieve this vision of a healthier, more active, happier Enfield - but we welcome Transport for London's 'Mini Holland' £30 million funding, for better walking and cycling, as a great starting point.
