My name is Sarah Waters, I am 47 years old and have suffered with Multiple Sclerosis for 7 years. I have the progressive type which means I will get worse and worse. Last year I was in hospital and it was apparent I need full time care. This will mean my family would have to do everything for me. I got very depressed and I did not want to live this way so I contacted Dignitas in Switzerland to have an assisted suicide. I told my family of this decision and seeing the faces of my 5 children was without a doubt the most horrendous thing ever and I sank even lower into depression. A couple of months I saw a post on Facebook of a chap who had HSCT which is a treatment using chemotherapy and stem cells to halt the MS and suddenly I see light. I decided to announce I wanted this treatment on my Facebook and I was going to fundraise to achieve this. I did a skydive which kickstarted the fundraising off. And since then, with the help of family and friends who have raised me £20,000. I still need another £10,000 to reach my goal, and I was hoping that you could help. Thank you.
