Hi, my name is Ruby Oasgood and I’m 16

In summer 2018 I am embarking on a 4 week expedition in Borneo. During this time I am going to be completing a project to help the local community. This could be building a safe place for children to go or even installing a well to ensure everyone can access clean water. I will also be going on a 4-5 day trek through the jungle to get an insight into the dangers the animals of the jungle face and how the trees and plants are being destroyed so we can eat

One of the things im looking forward to most is visiting the local Orangutan sancuatry.This centre helps the Orangutans to grow strong so they can be released out into the wild. At the moment in Borneo they are practically extinct due to their home being cut down for palm oil. This oil is in makeup and sweets such as maltesers and is severely threatening this animals existence

As this trip is taking place in 2018, and I have until then to raise my money. The amount I need to raise is £4,500 and I have to raise all of it through fundraising

Any amount towards my expedition would be appreciated and will go a long way to help me reach my goal of helping local communities in Borneo.
