Story
Every Christmas, in the children's medical/surgical wards presents are donated, funds are raised, celebrities visit and in-patients are in many people's thoughts.
Sadly, in children's mental health wards, the same is not true. Many are a long way from home and may not see their family over Christmas. There are no charities that fund-raise to provide these children gifts - so we are wanting to do just that.
We are a team of over 40 healthcare professionals and mental health supporters, working to make up gift parcels for (as many of the) 106 CAMHS units across the country.
Many of the wards have varied restrictions on what can be brought in, so we are asking for monetary donations that we can use to buy the specific items that are allowed.
Where possible, we will be delivering presents ourselves, though some will need to be sent via companies due to location. We can keep you updated with pictures of the presents that pass through our hands!
We (and more importantly, the children!) need your help to reach our goal.
Please give anything you can, and help to bring some Christmas joy to children and young people with mental illnesses.
