Emma is our friend & colleague & after battling with doctors & specialists for almost a year to determine the cause of her horrific pain, she has been diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer called Rhabdomyosarcoma
Sarcoma grows in connective tissue cells that connect or support other kinds of tissue in your body. These tumours are most common in the bones, muscles, tendons, cartilage, nerves, fat & blood vessels.

Emma is only 25 & her Sarcoma in the form of a tumour that is wrapped around one of her blood vessels to her brain, in her neck. Unfortunately the tumour went undetected for some months when she had a previous MRI scan & is now subsequently the size of a satsuma.
Emma's tumour is inoperable due to its location, so instead needs an intensive course of treatment, starting with c.3 months chemotherapy in Leeds & then going to America (Jacksonville Florida) for 8 weeks for a very specialised Proton Beam Radiotherapy mixed with Chemotherapy

We are wanting to raise money for Emma to support her and her family on their journey to recovery. The NHS is funding Emma's treatment however the money raised will allow her additional financial support so she can focus on getting well with her family by her side.

Emma has a huge journey ahead of her in every sense of the word, so we would like to start & do a series of fund raising activities to help get Emma back on her feet as soon as possible.

We are starting off by completing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks on 1st April 17.
Those of you who know us, know we’re not the athletic type & for many of us it will be the first time we have done this kind of challenge.
Its 37km long with an ascent of over 1380m - we will ascend Pen y Ghent, Whernside & Ingleborough.

Emma is a beautiful kind & thoughtful person inside & out. She means the world to us & the sooner we can have her home happy & healthy the better.
We want to raise public awareness of this form of cancer
