Following my recent mission’s trip to work with Jade & victims of human trafficking, I feel compelled to start this fund to enable the project to continue at its current level. I have been fortunate to work with Jade on a few occasions but this was probably the most gruelling. The work is growing immensely whilst victims are much, younger (around 14 – 20) the needs more complex due to the horrific things they have experienced even before being trafficked. The majority of victims are FGM sufferers and have also experienced brutality by Boko Haram, so medical needs are horrendous with daily trips to hospitals. At present Jade support 86 victims with immediate daily needs majority whom have babies. On top of this there are around 150 victims that she supports on a weekly or monthly basis. The work is relentless and she spends most of her time in the car driving victims to hospitals, social welfare, immigration, police station, safe house or refuge!! Lots of these places are outside of the city centre – some up to 10 miles outside!!! Jade is currently driving around in a car that is at least 12 years old with no air con and is constantly breaking down. Jade’s tool of her trade is her car and she needs something that is reliable and has air con! Jade and Pete have just spent 1150 Euros fixing the car and the mechanic who is a friend has said that he thinks there is only a few months of life left in the car. This will make the work far more difficult as Taxis and Buses will mean the work cannot run at the capacity it currently does. As you know Pete is currently out of work and Jade is a missionary so the purchase of a new car is not possible. I would like to think we can all support this amazing work and raise the finance to be able to purchase a new car for this incredible project and support these precious victims.
