Story
Johnny "Chester" Dowling left us suddenly on Friday 20th April. He was a well-known and well-loved character. A Rocker, Biker, Author, Record Shop owner, Model Maker, Husband, Papa and Grandfather. The organiser of Ton Up Day at Jacks Hill Cafe in Towcester and Luton Boys. All who knew him couldn't fail to appreciate his knowledge and enthusiasm for everything that interested him. His series of books "Just for Kicks" about the Rocker culture and lifestyle were extremely popular and unfortunately he passed away before being able to complete the 5th book in the series. He gave so much time to others and spent countless hours raising funds for charity - we are now asking that he and his family benefit from something in return at this very emotional time.

Chester played a massive part in starting me off collecting smelly old records when i first dragged my Mum & Dad in to the Bop Shop at Harrow on The Hill as a 11 year old clueless kid. RIP Chester

Heartbroken to learn that Chester has passed on. Although I have now lived in NYC for almost 40 years, I once spent 8 hours a day for years on end with Chester learning all about rockin' from the man.
