Christmas is a magical time of year. It is a time to relax and an opportunity to spend time with loved ones. But there are many people who will not have the same luxury as us. They unfortunately have to spend Christmas in hospital, undergoing treatments or transplants. They can't even see their family properly because of the strict visiting hours.

I have decided that I want to change Christmas for all the cancer patients at the Leicester Royal Infirmary this year.

With your generous donations me and my friends will be creating small handmade hampers to give to each patient. Hampers will include things such as wash bags, puzzle books, adult colouring books, journal/diary, a mug, blank cards with stamps, hardboiled sweets & of course a Christmas card.

As well as the individual hampers, we will also be creating large hampers for each ward containing a selection of cakes and biscuits for the patients to enjoy during the tea round that day.

All the children's wards will be receiving new toys for the playrooms.

Having spent 18 months myself in and out of the Leicester Royal Infirmary, i know exactly what its like to miss out on special occasions and quality time with those i love. I would hate to think somebody else is feeling the way i did at a point and for this reason i would love to do something to change there Christmas in hospital experience.
