As a community we are deeply saddened by Calvin Rodgers’ sudden death on Thursday 24th November. Calvin left behind his wife Claire and two daughters Tyra (15) and Freya (11). Alongside others we are doing all that we can to support them emotionally, spiritually and practically in the immediate aftermath of this tragedy.

From a practical point of view more than £2000 has already been raised through friends and pupils at Calvin’s school to pay for funeral expenses - which is wonderful. However we are aware of the longer term financial challenges that Claire and the girls could face as they no longer have Calvin’s income to support them.

In Acts chapter 4 the Bible says of the early church that "there were no needy people among them”. This was because the believers shared their possessions and gave to those among them who were in need. As a community we would love to support Claire and the girls to see them through the next few months with a generous financial gift of at least £8000 so that they don’t need to worry about that aspect of their future.

We have therefore set up this crowdfunding page through which we can demonstrate in a practical and tangible way our love and commitment to Claire, Tyra and Freya.
