On the 28/10/16 a major fire broke out in Exeter. Fire crews have been fighting the fire for over 27 hours yet it's still raging its way through the Clarence Hotel. The Clarence hotel which is one of the oldest hotels in the country is now a mere shell. The historical building is destroyed leaving a city and its people grief stricken. Obviously the Clarence hotel employed 100s of staff to provide a high standard of service to its guests. These staff may now be without wages for the foreseeable future. Many will have children to feed etc and obviously we are running up to Christmas. These dedicated staff who are no doubt devastated by their job loss need a income until if and when they get their jobs back. The building itself is going to need extensive work to be able to be fit for purpose again - if it ever will. I would like to raise as much money as possible so that the people who have lost their jobs due to this fire still have a wage and maybe we can even help restore the building to some extent.
