Story
I went to St Anne's square today in Manchester to pay my respects to all lost and injured in the horrific attack last week. People were crying, laying flowers down and you could feel the sadness in the air. On hand were armed police officers who were trying to comfort mourners as well as reassure everyone they were safe. The police officers on hand were sympathetic and passionate about what they were doing and will remain doing for the distant future. I went into a coffee shop to grab a coffee and it made me think, when was the last time these officers sat down? when was the last time they had a warm drink? At this point I asked the cafe if I could put some money behind the till to purchase the police a drink, they obliged and also offered to buy my drink for me which was a very warm offering. Manchester is united and we have shown how strong we are as a city and a country this is just a way of thanking the police who are patrolling constantly through the nights and ensuring we are safe. A cup of coffee or a good old brew costs very little so let's show how much we appreciate these officers and the work they do.
