    Story

Michael joined D&M Band in August 2016 after a 28 year break from banding. It's been one of the best experiences being involved with a bunch of great people, having taken part in numerous concerts and a couple of contests to date. This included the Scottish Championships in March, where the band competed in the Second Section and came 2nd out of 11, meaning a promotion to Section One and a chance to represent Scotland at Cheltenham in September 2017.

Whilst this is very exciting, it is also a huge outlay financially, where funding is fundamental generally to the existence of the band.

Therefore, Michael set himself a challenge immediately after the Scottish Championships to help our fundraising efforts by cycling the equivalent of 3 return trips from Prestonpans to Chelteham and 2 trips up Everest, which equates to a total of 2,250 miles and climbing hills to a cumulative height of 60,000 feet, before the end of August.

We would be very grateful if you could support Michael's challenge by sponsoring him. This will help towards one of Scotland's best bands, which supports the community within the Lothian area throughout the year, getting to Cheltenham.
