    Story

Hi everyone, to those of you who don't know me ( I'm guessing that's a lot) I'm David and I'm asking for your help. I'm a Falklands War veteran and unfortunately I lived with PTSD and Panic Disorder for a long time before I finally got the support I needed from our amazing NHS; I'd been too busy working in my photography business and I didn't recognise or know about these conditions but thankfully I got help. Sadly the medication's side effects meant that I sometimes put myself in vulnerable situations just to prove how strong I was.
One night in 2015 I went to a concert. It was way too loud but I told myself not to panic; nothing bad would happen. I just had to tough it out and try to enjoy the gig. The next morning I woke up with hearing loss and Tinnitus which is a constant ringing in my ears and head.
Just imagine a world where you are never free from a constant hissing in your ears. Yes you're right, It's horrendous.
After 2 years of constant suffering for myself and my family I have exhausted the NHS' capacity to deal with this horrendous condition so I've made the difficult decision to try Tinnitus Retraining Therapy using a private clinic but it's expensive and I'm not in a position to be able to pay for it all myself.
I'm a proud man and I've never sought financial help from strangers before so it's been a difficult decision to make as I'm sure some of my friends and family aren't aware of my situation so this may come as a bit of a shock to them. Apologies for that.
I've already contributed £1500 to my therapy which costs £3000 and I'm hoping that the generosity of others will help me with the other £900. I've already raised £600 throughJust Giving.
I really appreciate the time you're taking to read this and I've tried to keep it brief.
I can only say thank you for your donation and that I will be eternally grateful for your help. maybe one day I can repay the favour when I get back on my feet and start working on my business again.

I think it's wonderful that you're doing what you can to move forward with your condition, and that you're not letting it stop you in what you do. 😊A true inspiration to everyone. 🙏🏻
