Unlike the Army cadets and Air Cadet , the Sea Cadet get no funding from the government anf are reliant on having to raise all of their own funds themselves.

with our mini bus being old and unreliablea and costly to maintain and keep on the road we trying to raise funds to purchase a newer  minibus
having our own modern and reliable minibus is an essential requisite and the most practicable and cost efficient way of undertaking the all transport requirements of the Unit, avoiding having to hire in a more expensive alternative.

 Some of the training of the Cadets is conducted within Unit, much of it has to be carried out elsewhere, in rural and training areas for the Royal Marines Cadets and on water for the Sea Cadets, with having no option but to travel a number of miles away from the Unit due to there being no suitable water in the near proximity of Derby City; regrettably no such activities can be carried out on the River Derwent. The experiences of such activities makes such a difference to the lives of the young people between 10 to 18 years of age, To enhance their life skills and to enable them to take part in sea cadet and royal marine Cadet training and activities. Leading to recognised qualifications including, Sailing, Rowing, Navigation, Meteorology, Ect ect
