Meet Daniela, she is my beautiful little cousin and the bravest girl I know!

In the summer Daniela had pains in her leg and was being treated for a blood clot in Alder Hey. An MRI scan was completed and doctors found a tumour in her leg. This is when our worlds were turned upside down. After a biopsy Daniela was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, a type of cancer, which was in both her leg and lungs.

Daniela has already had 3 rounds of chemo and has at least another 5 months of treatment left, she will also need an operation to remove the tumour in her leg. Daniela has two big obstacles ahead and after she has overcome these, there may be an option to receive proton therapy, where she will need to go to America for treatment. There is a possibility that this may be funded by the NHS, and if so, all money raised will be donated to another child who needs treatment or to Alder Hey Children's Charity.

Having autism is difficult enough, but when you add fighting cancer and fortnightly trips to the hospital that’s when you see how amazing Daniela is. She has been sick, isn't eating or drinking as she is in pain, she has lost all of her hair due to chemo and she hasn't once moaned or complained about anything. She is still our happy, positive, smiley Daniela, and having cancer hasn't changed that.

The family are organising fundraising events, raffles, auctions and are taking part in many sports events to raise money for Daniela’s treatment. We will need as much help as possible, any prizes, gifts or presents to raffle would be gratefully appreciated and any donations no matter how big or small will help to support not only Daniela but her family as well.
