The WFRC Annual Walk/Run to End Domestic Violence is coming right up and 2017 will be our best event yet! The 2017 Walk/Run will be held on May 27th from 10:30am-16:00pm at the Wolverhampton East Park, Hickman Avenue, WV1 2BS. Last year we were breaking the silence on domestic violence and we now welcome you to the theme of 2017 which is “Everyone for Love”. Here at WFRC, we are very passionate about revisiting the word “LOVE” and we hope that you will support our vision to promote love within the community and use love to stamp out all forms of violence and abuse such as domestic violence, female genital mutilation, forced marriages, breast ironing and other forms of abuse.

By committing to Walk (1 mile) or Run (5K) with us, you are directly helping to support vital advocacy and services to those affected by domestic violence. You are also supporting family mediation, support and education services to prevent families from reaching that point of violence and hence breakdown.

Last year a total of 189 women were supported through our domestic violence service and 361 families received befriending support. We also helped 85 families experiencing difficult family relationships. We provided 660 hours of advocacy to victims of domestic violence, and educated 462 community members on domestic abuse and its effects. We want to continue reaching these families with your help! Together we can put an end to domestic violence b promoting positive relationships and thereby stop this broken families syndrome that is plaguing our communities.
