    Story

Earls Barton Youth Club was established abut 40 years ago and is still as popular now as it was back then. Even though its an established youth club the building also acts as a community centre for other village groups to use, eg dry mat bowlers, dog training class, karate class and a maturer section of the community use it for their bingo sessions. The youth club runs twice a week, Monday evenings for 7-12 year olds and Thursday evenings for 12-17 year olds. Both clubs run a host of weekly activities including arts & crafts, football, basketball, basic cooking classes, help with homework, etc as well as summertime camping trips and other outdoor activities. The children benefit greatly through physical and mental well being as well as lots of good old fashioned fun!
As explained previously, the youth club is used by many other groups within the community which helps greatly towards the costs in running the building. The storage facilities within the club are extremely tight and as some of the users are quite elderly we are in need of a larger storage area so the other groups can store their equipment safely and so access them more easily. The original small storage area can then be converted into a small games room for the youth club users. By having things like the table tennis and pool table permanently set up in the games room with tables and chairs for the arts & crafts it then opens up the main hall to play games like football, basketball, etc as this is difficult when other equipment is in there. All users of the youth club building will benefit greatly.
