Story
Awais is a 10 year old boy who was attacked in what is thought to be a serious racist incident 2 days ago. He suffered a range of physical injuries during his ordeal.
Local people are shocked and appalled at what has happened and want to raise some money for the family, showing that the people of Fishponds really does care. We hope they can use the money to have a family day out together.

8 years agoWOW! What an amazing response - thank you so much to all who have donated to show this boy and his family that we care. Awais continues with his recovery, and we are planning a very special day out in London for him and his family to enjoy. Awais and his family have requested that the remaining money be given to Awais's school to support specific anti-bullying/self advocacy work. We will ensure the money is used for this purpose. Finally, Awais has written a card to you all - see below. Thank you all for such generous and giving spirits x

I am sorry Awais found out so young that some people are mean. But, he will know too, many, most people are decent.Don't forget to work hard at school Awais. It will pay.

I do not live in the area, and am not from any minority group, but am shocked and appalled to read what happened. Here is wishing Awais and his family and the local community well.

Please don't take this personally. There are always going to be stupid ignorant people out there from all backgrounds. Fortunately they're the minority and we're the majority. Have a great day out.

I live locally and was appalled like so many others about this attack. It would be great if we could show this family that we support and stand with them during this very distressing time
