    Story

Our dad was a loving and amazing man and a nut pot who did the most crackpot things for his children. But on 25th November he lost his fight against leukemia, one of the most aggressive forms the doctors have ever seen. A horrible experience for anyone before Christmas. He will be missed terribly leaving behind his grandson of 3 years old and granddaughter of 9 months, a wife of 48 years and a daughter and of course me. We are a very close family who are all devastated by the news, he was fit and healthy on his recent 70th birthday so this has been a massive shock to us all. We, as a family, will dedicate our whole life fundraising for cancer wards and Sue Ryder Nurses for the help he has received and the care. It is the least I can do to help the people who have helped him. We LOVE him so much and we owe this to him, he has been the best dad in the world that we could have ever asked for. This fundraising site has been specifically set up to raise enough money to be able to hopefully be able to buy two comfortable reclining armchairs for the Adelaide Cancer Ward at Royal Berkshire Hospital so relatives can lay beside their loved one all night. They will be going through enough distress and discomfort as it is without having to spend all night sitting on a hard plastic moulded chair.

Sadly we lost the most loving husband, daddy and Grandpa last night. Devastated and shock beyond belief does not come anywhere near describing how we all feel. Angry and robbed. We are really desperate to raise enough money to be able to buy two, even one, comfortable reclining armchair for the Adelaid Ward at Royal Berkshire Hospital so relatives can lay beside and be with their loved one all night. They will be going through enough distress and discomfort as it is without having to spend all night sitting on a hard plastic moulded chair.
