Every year students in Foundation Studies at Gloucestershire College go on a residential at the end of the academic year. The students in Foundation Studies have a range of needs and learning differences, which is why residentials are so important in helping them to learn new skills and gain confidence. Many students have never stayed away from home so this is an excellent experience for them to gain independence while with their friends and support.
The residential trips are not just a jolly, our students volunteer their time with different organisations. This year some of our groups will be volunteering with the Canal and River Trust and Hop, Skip & Jump.
Staff and students work so hard fundraising all year round so they can go on their residential but are limited on what they can do as they still have qualifications to complete!
The money will go towards accomodation and food for all the different groups in foundation studies.
