Weʼre raising £1,000 to help fund upgrading our Sensory Garden
Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
Grange Park school is a specialist provision for children and young people aged between 8 and 19 with an Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This year we have signed up to the Social Action Challenge to make a change! Our sensory Garden for our pupils has not been updated since 2013, with broken artwork, water fountains and all our flowerbeds falling apart, our Key Stage 5 pupils wanted to do something about it. They have worked hard to put together a plan, updated artwork to represent the year the world has had, a sheltered area so they can still sit out there in the rain, some beautifully scented flowers and working water feature. A sensory garden for our pupils improves their physical fitness, health, mood and cognition. Gardening and plant care help the students develop gross and fine motor skills, and the time outdoors, breathing fresh air, and being exposed to sunlight are extremely beneficial to the children's development of self-regulation. The students are wanting to do all the updating themselves, painting, creating and planting, they just need to raise the money to buy the resources.
