    Story

Gemma was diagnosed with kidney failure at the age of 5 which resulted in her needing dialysis 3 times a week for 4 hours each time. Eventually she was fortunate enough to receive a kidney transplant at the age of 7 years.

Since her transplant Gemma has been actively participating in sport at high levels and also promoting the benefits of organ donation. Gemma has competed for her transplant unit (St James Hospital, Leeds) in the British Transplant Games winning over 50 medals. Gemma has been selected to represent Great Britain at the World Transplant Games (Transplant equivalent to the Olympics) in Malaga next year. However it is going to cost around £1500 to compete (this includes training costs and equiptment).

Any donations are gratefully received. Thank you for your help.
