Story
02/05 *Update* Elizabeth from @RSCMalawi spoke to George today for 20 mins and he is really enjoying his bee keeping course- it is 4 weeks long and teaching him key business skills. George has been 'jumping up and down with happiness' about all the support and 'has a very big vision for the project and would like the donations to benefit the whole community...'
08/06 - An update from Malawi- across the three fundraising efforts we nearly have £7,000! If we can get this to £10,000 we are talking about a huge difference to George and his family as well as the possibility of installing a borehole for water in the village.
On Sunday 28th May a fantastic programme aired on BBC Two called The Life Swap Adventure. It followed a British Business man named John who works 90 hours per week swap lives with George, a farmer from Malawi.
George's mission is to run his own bee keeping business and I would love to be able to raise the funds for him to be able to live his dream. He starts his bee keeping course on 1st June where he will learn how to make beehives, how to keep bees and have the initial basic materials so he is one step closer already!
I have a youtube channel which I will use to promote this page in the hope to reach a larger audience and also use my Twitter @Emilyaskewvlogs to provide updates. I have spoken to the producer of the programme and The Responsible Safari Company who have contact with George to ensure together the money raised goes to George and is used wisely. I will do absolutely anything to go over and above to help.
If you missed the programme you can watch it here http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b08sxklj
If you can help please donate. If you would like to contact me my email is Emily_askew@hotmail.co.uk - lets get as much publicity as we can for George :)
I recently ran the London Marathon and did not ask for sponsorship so have also asked my friends and family if they would like to donate to help George achieve his dreams.
