Love is blind! The 21 years old Annelies knows all about it.
This young woman has just started living her life and she’s already drowning in debts. This while she has no friends or family who can or wants to help her. I met her a while ago and she told me her story.

Annelies: A couple years ago I moved in with my former boyfriend. I was completely in love with him and I was convinced we’d live happily ever after. My mom tried to warn me that I was moving too fast and that it was a very bad idea, but I was sure that everything would work out. But as usually my mom was right, but by then it was already too late. I was so madly in love that I couldn’t see how my big love practically threw our money away. When there wasn’t a single coin left he abandoned me and left me with all his debts. I still haven’t been able to pay them all. I don’t have any family members to go too, my mother doesn’t want to see me anymore because I didn’t listen to her. I tried for a while to live with my father but when I noticed he took money from my savings account to buy alcohol I left there too. I don’t know what to do, I don’t even have enough money to buy food until the end of the month. I have some people where I can go for diner from time to time, but this can’t go on for much longer.

I was really touched by her story. I offered her food and shelter and even paid a bit of her debt. Unfortunately this isn’t enough so I hope that there are some more good people out there who are willing to help a girl in need. Because when you’re 21 you’re supposed to enjoy life, not fear it. Every bit of help is really appreciated no matter how big or how small. Annelies and I will be forever grateful! I’m sure that if we all work together, we’ll get her out of trouble and make her believe in life and happiness again.
