Helen Parkins is a kind, loving and caring member of our local community and a much loved colleague of ours. Whenever spirits need rising, Helen is there with support and to put a smile back on people's faces.

Helen does so much for those around her. Not only is she a loving mother of two, but she is carer to a number of people who do not have a support network or who are struggling with mental health. Without Helen's help, these individuals could have found themselves alone and in need.

Earlier this month, a freak fire broke out at the Parkins family home, leaving the family devastated and scared for their safety and security at a time of the year when they should feel safe, joyful and loved.

Starting outside, the fire ripped up the exterior wall blowing out and melting several of the house's windows. The fire spread so fast, the fire brigade could only watch as it jumped up to the roof and roared across the family's attic. Nearly all of the family's loved possessions were destroyed or damaged in the fire; precious family photos and heirlooms, Helen's wedding dress and even her beloved Christmas hat collection, which brings so many of her colleagues, and our customers, joy at this time of year.

We ask that you help us rally together for Helen and her family and give anything you can spare to help them with the expenses of restoring their home and help bring a smile back to Helen's normally cheeky, cheery face.
