    Story

Under the umbrella of Kingston Environment Centre, a group of volunteers are creating a garden for the whole community.

Our main aims are to increase the awareness of the importance of gardens in the urban environment, for local people to gain skills in environmentally sustainable gardening, plant species and teamwork.

This funding would allow us to purchase and plant established stock plants to create a sensory garden & woodland area, full of insect-friendly plants.

Further money raised would fund a Children’s Play Area comprising a Sandpit in a fenced off area with playmat for toddlers, a compost toilet and extensive landscaping to install a wildlife pond & extend wheelchair-friendly pathways throughout the garden.

Hogsmill Community Garden addresses the need for community spaces to increase the wellbeing of the whole community, including the elderly, refugees, disabilities & mental health groups.

We provide an organic gardening environment that conserves and enhances natural habitats.

A tranquill place to sit and observe nature.
