Story
We are Holmwood Farm. We are an urban eco-friendly smallholding dedicated to the welfare of all our animals, with a free range approach. We have been open for almost three years after turning a piece of overgrown wasteland into what it is today. We sell free range eggs and logs to help cover the running costs of the farm.
We are hoping to rehome a further 200 ex commercial hens this winter too and provide them with the free range life they deserve. However we need a coop large enough to accommodate them as we currently have converted recycled sheds which are coming to the end of their life.
The farm is a hobby for us at the moment so from April 2017 we will become a Community Interest Company and hope to welcome community groups to the farm.
At the moment we help businesses in the area recycle their waste food and we rely on monetary donations and donations of food from the public to help feed the animals as well as us providing them with a well balanced diet.
