On Friday 3rd March 2017 our lives were changed forever when my beautiful sister Danielle passed away aged 30, following the most courageous battle.
She was the strongest person to have graced this earth and her will to live life to the fullest shone through til the last minute.
Her determination to defy the odds and beat cancer started in august 2016 and after months in hospital and numerous operations she came home for Christmas.
Her desire to be home for Christmas was as selfless as she always was, wanting to be home not for herself but for the family.
She hated the thought of us worrying about her and that was her only fear. Following Christmas we looked forward to spending the new year as a family and made plans to live life to the fullest. Our positivity and feeing of hope was short lived,when just 2 days into the new year we were told that the cancer was back and that it was incurable. Even after being told this Danielle was determined that she would defy the odds and never once expressed feeling sad or negative, she simply stated she would try anything anyone suggested if it would help her to live. Danielle really was an inspiration and instead of grumbling she made a list of a few things she wanted to achieve. Her biggest wish of all was to be a princess for the day in the form of being a bridesmaid for my other sister's wedding.
With a date set Danielle helped put plans in place and began to look forward to the day. Having chose her dress and shoes she looked forward to being a princess and leading her little sister down the aisle. Sadly Danielle's dream was taken away from her when she passed away with just 2 weeks until the wedding leaving the whole family heartbroken. So in Danielle's honour and to help her fulfill her only dream of being a princess for the day we are raising money to give her the amazing send off that she deserves.
