A local Chesterfield lad was due to celebrate his 18th Birthday in August 2016. However, on the 27th of July 2016, James had brain surgery to remove a 3 inch tumour. Then on the 29th July 2016 he was diagnosed with a grade 2 Ependymoma.
James had been ill for a long time, his life style changed from feeling fit and healthy and generally fun to be around to someone his family hardly recognised. His family and James knew something wasn't right but nothing could have prepared them for the shock news that James had a brain tumour.
After several meetings with the NHS they finally came to the decision that James should receive potentially life saving treatment 'proton therapy' but he must travel to the United States of America and stay for upto 3 months.
James is due back at the beginning of December after 3 long months away from family and friends and we would like to welcome him back to Chesterfield with a fantastic ' Welcome Home ' Party.
What can we do to help make this ' Welcome Home ' Party for James and his family happen............
........... On the 2nd December Mark Ebenbeck, Branch Director at the Santander branch in Chesterfield along with his two colleagues Chris Lucas, Branch Manager Financial Centre and Gareth Robinson, Customer Service Manager will be completing a 10km sponsored run around Chesterfield.
We will start & end the 10km run at the Santander Branch in Chesterfield.
All monies raised for James will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance
Mark, Chris and Gareth
