Story
Anthony Jenkins 'Jenko' to his work colleagues is a much loved man who unfortunately suddenly fell ill in Dec 2014, a few days before Xmas he was found collapsed at home by his wife, having suffered a bleed to his brain which caused significant brain injuries, leaving him with very limited mobility & speech. Ant is fully aware of everything around him and enjoys the company of his family, listening to books or music and watching tv.
His family (who can be seen in the photo) have been determined to get the highest level of care for Ant and encourage his recovery. They now believe the best place for him to be is at home. Sharon his wife has given up work to care for him and already started building alterations at home. The federation have been able to make a significant contribution to this work but the family are having to fund the rest themselves.
This is where you can help.
The funding page is being set up to help the family buy any equipment, supplies or basic furnishing requirements to ensure Ant has everything he needs once he's home.
Ant was originally a farmer before his change of career at the age of 35 in 2001. His dedicated service for Cheshire Police, mainly based at Crewe has left a positive lasting impression on all those who have the pleasure of knowing him. He was an exceptional officer who cared about the public and his colleagues. His sense of humour, good listening skills and ability to impart excellent advice or assistance made him a key part of any unit he worked on.
Any amount of money that you can donate will be greatly appreciated. We could easily exceed our target if every Cheshire employee donated just £1.
The money raised will go directly to Ant's family.
He most certainly would have had a well attended retirement do but unfortunately that's not going to be an option. The page is our way to support him as he leaves the police service making sure his civilian life at home is as comfortable as possible.
