My wonderful friend Anna and I will be heading out to Hoima Uganda for two weeks in March, having been qualified Midwives for almost 6 months we are excited to put our skills to good use as volunteers for non-profit organisation MAMA, who provide maternity services locally.

Local UK Midwives visit Azur clinic throughout the year (using their annual leave) with the aim not only of looking after and empowering women but to train local Midwives. This year they will be continuing their education programme on obstetric emergencies.

We will be funding our own travel and accommodation expenses but are hoping to raise some money for the women and babies we will meet
-A new steriliser is needed for delivery instruments
-Blood pressure equipment for the clinics
-A new oxygen concentrator to keep poorly mums/babies together
-A delivery costs £10
-Neonatal specialist care costs £5 per day of admission
-A caserean section costs £50

All money raised will go directly to MAMA
