    Story

In October this year (2016) our gorgeous boy Kasper was diagnosed with type T lymphoma cancer just weeks before his sixth birthday.

Unfortunately we don't have any insurance and have been paying his vet bills for the last month and a half, currently totalling just over £2000.

His cycle of treatment is a weekly dose of chemo, coming in the form of an injection at our local vets, chemo tablets at home the following week, another injection the week after and then a chemo infusion (drip) at a specialist cancer Vets, who are some 60 mile round trip from us.

His whole course is set to run for six months and so far his lymph nodes have reduced massively to there original 'golf ball' sized lumps and he's doing really well.

On top of the vet bills and time off from work, which myself and my partner share. My partner has also been coming home at dinner times from her work place to feed Kasper, white fish, chicken breasts and sardines for a mid day meal, to try and build his weight back up, as he had lost around 4-5kg before his treatment began.

Due to these extra efforts and his continued treatment I'm happy to report he's almost back upto his previous weight of a lean and healthy 37.5kgs ! Which is great news, as things are all going in the right direction !

Currently were a quarter the way through his treatment and current costs, minus extra cancer fighting foods, time and travel etc stand at just over £2000. At this rate it's going to cost us in the region of £6000 to complete his course.

I know everyone loves their pets, but Kasper is such a great boy, he's so clever and gentle and really doesn't deserve this (no one does!) but he has met the treatments with his usual bright personality and has so much more life to live.

If you are an animal lover, or have had a pet or family member suffer from this horrible disease, I'm asking you to please help us continue his treatment and help kick cancers butt.

Thank you for all donations X

So, I'm afraid to tell you that today after spending most of Sunday at Pride Park vets, and over night on fluids to flush his bloods, we have had to make the hard choice and let Kasper go to sleep for the last time. After defying the odds since coming off his chemo he had been doing really well, but took a turn for the worse this weekend. Myself and Donna went to see him just afternoon and lay on the floor with him and spent our last hour with him. His bright eyes had faded,he was tired and was telling us he was ready. We will miss him so much X

take him back for the last time. He's fought it bravely all the way and is reasonably perky after his chicken tonight but has now gone straight to sleep not long after. Hardly surprising after being poked and prodded for the last few days. So from now on well not bombard him with anymore chemo, as we've been informed it may only extend things a further week or two at best, but make him feel crappy. So well keep him comfy till he lets us know he's ready. Thank you for everyone's support over the last five months X
