Hi everyone I am looking to help raise money to help one of my best friends Laura Wakefield. below you can read her story. I have decide to enter the Leeds Olympic distance triathlon in 7 weeks time.

Where do I begin on the news I received yesterday. After finding out the end of Feb I have a tumour in my foot, having an MRI, a horrible biopsy and then told last week it was cancer that they couldn't treat, it's safe to say it's been such an horrendous week for everybody. I had further scans on all of my organs and was finally told yesterday that the cancer hasn't spread anywhere else and I'm absolutely over the moon!! Everybody's positive thoughts and prayers came true 💫💫💫...

Unfortunately the cancer in my foot is so rare that it can't be treated and within the next 2 weeks I will be having amputation below my knee. Such a bittersweet moment because it's such a massive thing to get my head around but if it means I beat cancer 100% and get to continue living my life then I have to put my big girls knickers on and do it.

God knows how I'm going to feel and cope but these past few weeks have highlighted how truly amazing my friends and family are and I mean that more than anything! Everyone has been so kind and generous with gifts, lovely words and their time and nothing has been too much for anybody. I never thought this would happen to me but it's something i now have to learn to live with and I'm sure it will give me a completely new lease of life. I've always been brought up to know what's important in life and what isn't and the fact I will have a prosthetic will not change who I am or define me and I will make sure above anything that I have the exact same quality of life and will continue to do every single little thing in the exact same way - except I will have much better car parking! Seriously thank you to everyone who's helped and been there for me on this surreal journey so far.
