Help Us Launch the UK's First Leiomyosarcoma Research Workshop
Who we are:
Leiomyosarcoma (LMS) is a rare and aggressive cancer that grows in smooth muscles.
We're Leiomyosarcoma Research UK (LMSR UK), a registered charity formed by LMS patients and their loved ones, and we are driven by the urgent need for better treatments and outcomes.
Charity number: 1210455
What we are doing:
We're setting up LMSR UK because we believe that a dedicated research charity is how we can make a real difference. Our aims include creating a strong UK network of LMS researchers and experts – something we feel is vital but currently underdeveloped. In due course we will also raise funds to support LMS specific research, in partnership with Sarcoma UK and other research organisations who support LMS research.
To launch this network, we're holding an LMS specific workshop in December. This workshop will bring together top UK researchers and experts to define research priorities, improve connectivity through the sharing of best practice and strengthen collaboration. We have the support of Sarcoma UK, Dr. Paul Huang at the Institute of Cancer Research and Professor Robin Jones at the Royal Marsden
We believe this workshop could transform the UK's LMS research landscape... but we need your help to make it happen. We estimate that the planning, running and output activities of the workshop, and setting up basic infrastructure for our charity will cost £8,500.
