I am planning to install a Community Public Accessible Defibrillator(CPAD) at The Leiston Children's Centre building in Waterloo Avenue. This will be to help people who have suffered a sudden cardiac arrest. I thought that Leiston would benefit by having a second CPAD. In some cases this one will be quicker and easier to access than the one in Sizewell Road. It may also be that there is more than one person in need of one at the same time. The money raised will, together with a £500 grant from Leiston Town Council, a £500 grant from District Councillor Ian Pratt and a minimum amount of £200 from the East of England Co-op's Community Token Scheme pay for the purchase and installation of a CPAD. A competent electrical contractor will be required to carry out the installation. Any monies remaining will be used for re-stocking used equipment. Please be aware that justgiving deduct a 16p processing fee for every donation and a 5% fee from the total amount donated. When the page expires on 14/01/2017 the money will be paid to Leiston Town Council and it will be put in to a Defibrillator Reserve to be looked after on behalf of the appeal.
