Story
Hello, we are looking to see if we can get some extra support to buy some much needed outdoor play equipment for the children at Little Otters Children's Centre, Marshgate, Nr Camelford, Cornwall. It is a charity run nursery based in North Cornwall.
Having just received a good Ofsted report, we feel that we really want to improve the outdoor space and equipment available to enhance the children's development. Our main aim is to purchase a pirate ship - The St Eval Sailor, made by The outdoor
play People at St Columb - for the children to explore and role play with.
Our fund raising simply started out as an offer by two parents to do a sponsored cycle across the county, but it has very quickly grown into a huge event. Two parents, accompanied by two kind friends, have offered to cycle from Otterham to Lands End; a whole 89 miles (and what's more they are not regular Cyclists)!
Little Otters Children's Centre Committee and Staff have organised many different events but, due to lack of support, have struggled to make enough money to replenish or replace Outdoor Play Equipment. We have been in contact with many many local businesses, and the generosity of donations to auction has been overwhealming and greatly appreciated. Therefore, a massive Auction Night will be held on 18th August at The Coach House Inn in Camelford. We have been fortunate to have food donations by several of Cornwall's popular food suppliers and some absolutely amazing donated gifts. These range from: dinner and a nights stay at St Mellion International Resort, to dining vouchers at amazing restaurants, to handmade delights in an awesome raffle.
The nursery have worked hard to make things brilliant for the children, but outdoor equipment is extremely expensive and we just need a little helping hand! every single £1 is a massive help!
Many thanks for your time in reading this :)
