    Story

Voices for Autism are a non-profit organisation who host regular coffee mornings throughout the UK for parents/carers who care for a young person living with Autism.

The founder, Nadene created the organisation as her eldest child is on the spectrum and wished to share her journey with others for support, friendships and encouragement.

The Headstart Programme will be a range of block workshops where each week, there will be a different workshop available ranging from personal hygiene to money matters. It is vital that our young people are given the tools to be as independent as possible in the world. The Voices for Autism team aim to help those from the age of 13 upwards.

All monies raised will be ploughed into developing a robust range of programmes which will be led by both volunteers and specialists from relevant professions, we shall also be encouraging parents/carers to get involved where possible.

This cause is very close to our hearts and with your help, we can make this a reality. Autism is a hidden disability so those with the condition may not always get the support they require because parents and carers may not know how to ask for help. Sharing experiences, signposting to specialist services, listening to young people about the workshops they would like to attend and providing them has ensured we have made a difference.

Voices for Autism is a proactive organisation aiming to support autistic children and young people to access opportunities. I am very excited (scared) to climb for such a worthwhile cause!

Any contribution is greatly appreciated 😊
