I recently went to Uganda as part of a medical mission with CRMI children of hope, reg. charity No. 1125132. Shamirah's story and situation touched my heart. I want to help give her and her family a hope and a future. Her Mum Marium was widowed 2 years ago and left alone with 6 children. Shamirah, 19 yrs, is one of those children, she has a twin sister who is severely disabled. Marium and Shamirah have to work in a quarry everyday to earn money, this is the hardest and least paid job. They are all living in a room, 6ft x 8ft in a concert out building. Through the charity we were able to buy them some beds while we were there. I would like to raise the money to build them a house. The charity has bought a plot of land and one house has been built already for another family in need. I would like to raise enough money to build a house for this family - to give them a hope and a future. We are going to sponsor Shamirah so she can get some vocational training and not have to work in the quarry. If they have this house then they will be able to grow things and help themselves have a better life and future. To build this house we need to raise £3000, I have raised £320 so far. Every penny donated will go to pay Ugandan contractors to build this house. CRM, the charity in Uganda will oversea and manage this work. None of the money will be taken for any administration within CRM. With your generous help we can raise this family up and give them a hope and a future and let them know someone cares.
