Miriam has witnessed the worst of humanity, together, we can show her the best.

Miriam was attacked when she was 19 years old in her own home. In the middle of the night men broke the door down and held her down as they hacked off her arms with machetes and left her for dead. Her family was not able to get to to the hospital until morning, where miraculously the doctor was able to save her life.

Miriam is a beautiful young lady who was born with Albinism in the East African country of Tanzania. In Tanzania there are over 55,000 albinos, or 1 in every 1500 people. Because of this, many believe their arms and legs hold significant monetary value. It is believed that purchasing a "harvested" arm or leg and burying it on your property will bring prosperity to your life. The result is horrifying; thousands of albinos are attacked every year and forced to live in fear.

Miriam has lived the last 3 years of her life with no dignity. She is not able to wash herself, feed herself, or have any chance at life without full time help from a friend.

The cost for 2 prosthetic arms including all the doctor fees as well as classes to help her adjust to living with new arms is estimated at £9,500 ($11,500 USD).
